January 14 was an incredible day for Team Arctic Ease!
Vernon Davis of the San Francisco 49ers lead the day; stating in a post game sideline interview “now’s the time to show them what you’re made of…” which was demonstrated by an incredible last second touchdown reception to clinch a definitive win for the San Francisco 49ers over the New Orleans Saints. There were 4 touchdowns in the last 4 minutes of the game between the two teams, and Vernon Davis had a crucial reception to get the 49ers into field goal range to take the game into Sudden Death Overtime, but caught the reception of a lifetime to clinch the victory with 9 seconds remaining. In all, he had an awe inspiring 180 total yards, 7 receptions, and the first and last touchdowns for the 49ers. What a performance!
In the frozen north, New England played the Denver Bronco’s – and despite all of the media hubbub regarding the Broncos Quarterback Tim Tebow, shut the Denver Bronco’s down. Rob Gronkowski had 10 receptions for 145 yards and an NFL record setting performance. Rob, caught more passes for more yards than Tim Tebow, had completions (9) and passing yards (136)!
Dane Fletcher had a spectacular game despite a nagging thumb injury that had put him on injured reserve earlier this season and had Dane listed as questionable at the start of the game. Dane facilitated in shutting down Tebowtime with 5 tackles, 3 of which were unassisted, including the flying tackle in the final moments of the 4th quarter.
